Abel Gomez, Ph.D. Candidate

Abel Gomez is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He possesses extensive experience in broad cybersecurity areas with a special focus on continuous field sensor authentication and process integrity assurance in traditional and next-generation Industrial Control Systems. He has also been working as a research intern for Sandia National Lab. In addition, he has supervised undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion, acting as a mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher). In the past, he was a Service Information Developer at DXC Technology, El Paso. He received an MS in Software Engineering from UTEP and is on the way to receiving his Ph.D. in Computer Science in May 2022.
